HIPHOP HEADQUARTERS
Write for Daily Planet Rock
The Kulture moves fast, so the documentation doesn’t always keep up. Stories get missed. Context gets lost. Voices don’t get heard the way they should. Daily Planet Rock exists to change that.
If you’re a writer, a journalist, an editor, a photographer, or anyone who knows how to tell a story the right way, this is your invitation.
This isn’t a content farm. This is a space built for people who take their craft seriously. People who care about language, about detail, about accuracy, about perspective. People who understand that writing about HipHop isn’t just about covering what’s popular, it’s about explaining what’s happening beneath the surface.
The Kulture deserves better documentation. We’re building a living journal. A real publication. Something that reflects the full scope of HipHop, from artists and performances to visual art, digital platforms, community movements, and everything in between. Interviews, essays, features, profiles, criticism, archives, all of it has a place here.
It needs voices. Not recycled takes. Not surface-level coverage. Real writing. Thoughtful writing. Writing that stands on its own even years later. The kind of work that makes someone stop, read, and think.
The opportunity here is different. You’re not stepping into something already defined. You’re helping shape it. The sections, the tone, the direction, all of it grows with the people who contribute. This is ground-level access to a platform designed to become an archive, not just a feed.
That means responsibility too. Accuracy matters. Integrity matters. Doing the work right matters. If you’re here, it’s because you want to contribute something that lasts, not something that disappears after a scroll. If that’s how you move, there’s space for you here.
Whether you’re an experienced journalist or someone with a strong voice who hasn’t had the right platform yet, what matters is your ability to observe, to think, and to communicate clearly. If you can do that, you can build here.
This is where writers come to document the Kulture from the inside. To ask better questions. To tell fuller stories. To create a record that actually reflects what HipHop is and where it’s going.
So if you’ve been looking for a place to write that respects the craft and the Kulture at the same time, this is it.
